McDonald Engineers Win Best Performing Business Award

McDonald Engineers is celebrating another achievement as it picked up the Best Performing Business Award at the prestigious Fife Business Awards ceremony held last week.

The awards recognise Fife businesses which have shown outstanding performance in their area and have helped to drive forward the local economy.

New Literature to Support PLATEflow Growth

McDonald Engineers has updated its literature for its highly successful PLATEflow system which provides a solution to decrease the amount of stored hot water required, while still delivering peak flow rates as demanded. The PLATEflow system comprises a Brazed Plate Heat Exchanger (PHE), pre-piped and mounted on a Buffer Vessel. It is designed to supply hot water in situations where demand can vary over the course of a day, e.g. hotels, hospitals, factories etc.

Change at McDonald Engineers

Just as the clocks have changed, so too have the roles of our technical sales managers, albeit only slightly. Moving on to pastures new is Calum MacKinnon, who we thank for his good work during his time with McDonald Engineers and wish him every success in the future. Calum’s departure has seen a slight restructuring of the Technical Sales team and Stuart Graham will now take over Calum's role covering all specification and technical requirements for the West and Central Scotland. He will continue to keep in touch with all merchants in this area as well.

BPEC Certified Unvented Cylinder Training Course

Before the year end, McDonald Engineers will be hosting another BPEC Certified Unvented Cylinder training course which will take place on Wednesday 12th December 2012 (with the next course pencilled in for 19th February 2013). With all plumbers and installers having a legal obligation to complete this course every 5 years, McDonald Engineers soften the blow by offering £75 worth of vouchers redeemable against future purchases of its ECOflow and POWERflow cylinders.

McDonald Engineers Shortlisted for Award

McDonald Engineers is aiming to add another title to its name after it was announced the company has reached the final of the Fife Business Awards.

The awards recognise Fife companies who have shown outstanding performance in their area and have helped to drive forward the local economy.

McDonald Engineers’ efforts have already been recognised this year with employee Graham Smyth scooping the Hammermen Award for his work in launching the STEELflow stainless steel unvented cylinder.

Electric Wet Systems Supplied For A Sheltered Housing Scheme

McDonald Engineers has secured the contract to supply over 20 of its ELECTRAflow Electric Wet Thermal Stores for the refurbishment of a sheltered housing scheme.

The company secured the contract after working closely with the design team to understand the challenges they were facing and developed a bespoke solution which was tailored to their exact requirements.

McDonald Engineers proposed an electrical thermal store solution which featured a smaller capacity than the existing cylinders to suit the number of occupants and the tariff.
