McDonald Engineers’ MINImac cylinder has demonstrated its ability to provide a direct replacement for Spartan Tanks which were commonly installed in high rise buildings or where a gravity system was in use and where space was restricted.
The MINImac system works like the Spartan tank and allows the secondary hot water system to feed, fill and vent the primary central heating system.
And thanks to McDonald Engineers’ technical expertise, they are able to manufacture exact replacements for the existing systems right down to the location of the connection to minimise labour costs on site.
McDonald Engineers’ Sales Manager, David Stewart commented, “Now that Spartan vessels are discontinued, clients are struggling to source them and believe they have no choice but to replace the entire hot water system.”
He continued, “We’re therefore very proud to offer the MINImac as a direct replacement for Spartan Vessels which enables clients to minimise the cost of replacing the system. And of course, being manufactured from copper, the tanks are less prone to the formation of rust which can be an issue for an aerated system.”
