THERMflow Thermal Stores for Eco Homes in Sheffield

Thursday, 31 October 2013

McDonald Engineers has supplied 12 of its THERMflow Thermal Stores for a small development of 3 storey luxury eco-homes in Sheffield.

The 300 litre cylinders were custom designed for the project to accommodate solar thermal energy, solid fuel from a wood burning stove and a gas boiler as back up.

McDonald Engineers also specified a rapid recovery coil which was uprated in size to work in conjunction with the gas boiler to optimise the heat recovery time.

McDonald Engineers were able to manufacture the bespoke cylinders to extremely short lead times with the first 3 cylinders being despatched within a matter of days and the balance of the order the following week.

Sales Director, Jamie Stewart commented, “We are delighted to have delivered this project on time and within budget. We have worked with this client on a number of occasions now and we are delighted to be able to form a close working partnership which helps the entire process from specification through to delivery and installation.”

He continued, “Our ability to manufacture a solution, which is custom designed to the individual requirements of the project is becoming more and more attractive to clients. They recognise the potential for significant cost savings with the installation.”
