Wednesday, 08 February 2012

McDonald Engineers Managing Director, Bill Stewart, has completed the challenge of a lifetime as he scaled Africa’s highest mountain and the world’s highest free standing mountain all in the name of charity. Bill, together with his wife Mairead, set off some 2 weeks ago with a team from the Rotary Club of Kirkcaldy and after 5 gruelling days of climbing, successfully reached the summit Mount Kilimanjaro. Bill commented, “That was, without question, the toughest and most physically demanding week of my life however it was also a fantastic and exhilarating experience made all the more rewarding by visiting some of the charities we were raising money for.” Bill and the Kirkcaldy Rotary team have been raising funds for a number of projects in Tanzania however this fund raising project was attempting to raise £20,000 to help protect albino children in the country.
