22.03.2018 Major CUBEflow Contract for 8 Storey Apartment Block

McDonald Engineers have designed, manufactured and supplied 160 of its CUBEflow Electric rectangular tanks for the refurbishment of three 8 storey apartment blocks for a local authority in Scotland.

The aim of the project was to replace the existing 120 litre combination cylinders with a solution which would improve efficiency whilst delivering the same level of performance and freeing up valuable cupboard space for the tenants.

08.03.2018 Electric Thermal Stores for Apartment Block

McDonald Engineers UK has secured the contract to design, manufacture, and supply 32No Electric Thermal Stores for an Apartment Block in Newcastle for a major housing association.

The apartments were being refurbished and McDonald Engineers UK was asked to survey the existing hot water storage solution and propose a suitable alternative.

11.01.2018 Bespoke Thermal Store to Create Two Hot Water Systems

McDonald Engineers has manufactured a bespoke thermal store for a luxury property which enabled the client to replace his existing boiler to create two separate hot water systems to serve the two levels in the 5 bedroom home.
McDonald Engineers worked closely with the client to design a thermal store solution which featured two hot water coils, one for each bathroom, together with the smallest combi boiler to provide hot water to the kitchen.

McDonald Engineers UK has designed, manufactured and delivered two high performance 450 litre PLATEflows semi-instantaneous hot water storage solution for an 8 bedroom, 25,000 sq ft luxury home in Cheshire.
Working closely with the consultant and contractor, McDonald Engineers Technical Sales Team designed a solution which was capable of delivering a staggering 4500 litres of hot water per hour.

After taking early retirement in 2015, Sandy returned to the company just over a year ago to provide cover for our Technical Sales team where his experience and knowledge has proved to be extremely valuable for both clients and specifiers.
After over 30 years in the hot water cylinder game, Sandy has now decided to make his retirement permanent as of 1st December 2017.

23.11.2017 Custom Made Hot Water Cylinder for Luxury Home

McDonald Engineers UK has demonstrated their ability to design, manufacture and supply custom made hot water cylinders for high end residential properties by delivering this 700 litre bespoke POWERflow unvented cylinder to work in conjunction with a ground source heat pump.
The property owner had reported an issue with their existing cylinder working with the ground source heat pump and asked McDonald Engineers to present a solution.

04.10.2017 Vented Calorifier for a School in Manchester

McDonald Engineers UK has designed, manufactured and supplied a Vented Calorifier for a school in Manchester.

The 650 litre vented calorifier measured 2000mm in height by 795mm in diameter and replaced an existing cylinder as part of an upgrade programme being carried out in the school.

Designed to work in conjunction with an 89kW boiler, the vented calorifier featured two immersion heaters and an inspection manhole.
