Hot Water Cylinder News
McDonald Engineers has supplied no less than 62 customised TIMEsaver Plumbing Units to a local authority as part of their upgrade works to a tower block of flats. The TIMEsaver system was identified as providing the perfect solution for the project which had no existing gas supply and was required to meet Byelaw 30 of the Water Regulations.
McDonald Engineers has launched a superb new service aimed at providing clients with genuine spare parts for its hot water cylinders, with the option of next day delivery for orders placed before 2pm. With an extensive range of high quality spare parts, from motorised zone valves to expansion vessels up to 200 litres, McDonald Engineers are looking to provide its clients with an enhanced level of service, by accessing their consistently high stock levels.

Dispelling the myth that bespoke cylinders are just for one-off projects, McDonald Engineers has enabled one Scottish Local Authority to save a significant amount of time and installation costs on a project which required over 400 thermal stores.
McDonald Engineers were recently approached by a merchant who had a bit of unusual request - 'Can you supply copper washers for a council who needs them for a particular contract they are working on?'
As you may be aware, copper washers are often used in piping, electronics and biomedical applications as they are a great conductor of heat and when very pure, a good conductor of electricity. Copper is also quite a malleable material which means that when a copper washer is crushed between two surfaces, it can fill any imperfection.
McDonald Engineers has once again risen to the challenge, quite literally, by manufacturing a bespoke hot water cylinder, measuring in at 1830mm in height and just 280mm in diameter, to the client's exact specifications as provided in the form of the old cylinder.
Unvented cylinder systems are now experiencing an unprecedented growth in the replacement market, as many installers recognising that a combi system isn't always the best choice.
McDonald Engineers has made solar hot water systems easy with its SOLARsave pre-plumbed unit which features a high performance dual coil copper cylinder with all the major components pre-fitted and pre-wired for a quick and easy installation.
