McDonald Engineers’ expertise in delivering energy efficient hot water systems for commercial environments, was put to the test by the Department for Communities and Local Government at their headquarters in central London.
McDonald Engineers is ensuring that the 420 miners at one of the UK’s last remaining collieries will have sufficient hot water to shower at the end of their 12 hour shift by designing, manufacturing and supplying two 1000litre calorifiers.
The employee owned Hatfield Colliery in Yorkshire is one of only three collieries in Britain and was made famous by featuring in the 1996 movie Brassed Off.
McDonald Engineers has demonstrated it is the thoroughbred calorifier manufacturer with its latest project, where it manufactured a 920 litre copper calorifier to wash down race horses at York Race Course.
The calorifier was designed to deliver a steady temperature to matched that of the horse’s blood. This was achieved by incorporating a mixing valve on the outlet, to bring the water temperature down to the required level.
McDonald Engineers has demonstrated its ability to design and manufacture innovative solar thermal cylinders with the supply of nine varying sized calorifiers for two large care homes.
The project was part of a major publicly funded refurbishment programme so energy efficiency and good value were key to the development.
McDonald Engineers is ensuring that rig workers are kept squeaky clean by supplying 5 x 1000 Litre Calorifiers to two separate oil rigs in the North Sea. Designed to work at high incoming pressures, with a quick recovery provided by multiple Immersion Heaters, the Calorifiers will provide the water for the showering and kitchen facilities.
McDonald Engineers are proud to have won a recent tender to supply a leading top hotel in Edinburgh. Based not only on the high quality of the Copper Hot Water Cylinders that they produce, but on their competitive pricing, lead times and quality service. The order for two 900 litre Calorifiers, was to be delivered on a site where space was highlighted as an issue. For this reason, McDonald Engineers offered to insulate the units on site to maximise the capacity.
McDonald Engineers have responded to the changing market requirements with the introduction of a new low cost lagging option on its range of calorifiers. The new low cost lagging uses foil-backed rockwool insulation to deliver a GWP rating of <1, making it an ideal solution for commercial environments. McDonald Engineers have continued to maintain their position as one of the UK's leading manufacturers of hot water cylinders thanks to their ability to remain one step ahead of the competition when it comes to new products.
McDonald Engineers has demonstrated exactly why they are one of the UK's most respected manufacturers of hot water systems, by immediately despatching a service engineer to alter a connection on a new 1800 litre POWERflow Commercial
Many people err on the side of caution when designing hot water systems for commercial environments, such as hotels, hospitals and offices.
McDonald Engineers is enabling architects and consultants to reach their energy targets with the launch of their dedicated range of hot water systems that are designed to be used in conjunction with renewable energy sources such as solar energy and heat pump technology.
