Calorifiers
McDonald Engineers manufacture a wide range
of Calorifiers to suit Vented and Unvented installations. Delivery
often within one week.
We manufacture to BS 853, 1566 and 699 and hold two Kitemark licences
for copper cylinders. A BSI approved quality plan to ISO 9002 is followed
and each Calorifier is rigorously tested to ensure problem free installation
and operation.
Calorifiers are generally manufactured from Copper which has excellent
non-corrosive and anti-bacterial qualities. Other materials are available
on request.
Sizing and technical advice are readily available to ensure each unit
is supplied suitable for the capacity and pressure required. Design
sketches are also available for individual projects.
CALORIFIER TYPES
Direct and Indirect units come in Vertical models mounted on a
steel ring stand or on legs and in Horizontal models supplied with
cradles if required.
PRIMARY HEATERS
Indirect units can have either a Fixed Coil or a
removable ‘U’ Tube Battery, both suitable for Water or Steam. Fixed
Coil types are more economical and an access manhole can be added
if access is required for maintenance.
Test Certificates can be issued on request.
- Thermal Insulation - Polyurethane Foam Lagging
is most economical but rockwool insulation with a galvanised steel
or aluminium case is also available for a more aesthetically pleasing
finish
- Quick Recovery Coils. State the re-heat time
required and what kW input is available and a Primary heater will
be designed to suit
- Immersion Heaters - Calorifier are as standard
supplied with 67mm Immersion bosses and Immersions can be supplied
up to 18kW to fit these. Flanges can be fitted to take more highly
rated Immersions, which we are also able to supply
- De-stratification Pumps - These can be fitted
with the appropriate internal pipework to suit. These eliminate
the risk of legionella
- Inspection Openings and/or Bolted Head - allowing
access for inspection and or cleaning
- Gauges, safety valves etc. - A wide range of
gauges and valves are available on request
- Lifting Lugs available if required.
