About McDonald Engineers
McDonald Engineers (UK) Limited was incorporated in 1945 and was the subject of a management buyout by JR Stewart in 1973 from the Inglefield Group. Its past activities have included the manufacture of truck bodies, waste disposal skips, general steel fabrication, golf sole plates and prefabricated plumbing. It now concentrates on producing high quality copper hot water systems. Products include POWERflow 2000 Unvented Mains Pressure Systems, THERMflow Thermal Storage Systems, ELECTRAflow Electric Wet Central Heating Systems, TIMEsaver Plumbing Units, Commercial and Industrial Calorifiers and PLATEflow, Direct, Indirect and Combination Cylinders in a wide range of sizes, grades and applications.
McDonald Engineers continue to invest in new machines and
equipment to ensure the latest methods are used to manufacture to the highest
standards in the industry.
The company holds a British Standards Institution Licence (Kitemark) in
respect of its Indirect and Direct copper hot water cylinders, grades 2
and 3. The relevant British Standard for products is BS 1566:2002.
The company also operates a quality system which complies with BS EN ISO
9002. The company also holds a WRc (Water Research Council) certificate
in respect of the POWERflow 2000 range of unvented systems.
We have ongoing dealings with plumbers, local authorities, housing associations
and private house builders, encouraging them to specify and use our
products.
McDonald Engineers are proud to be an independent Scottish manufacturer. The company continues to grow and develop, largely due to the emphasis given to provide consistent high standards of quality, accompanied by levels of service and flexibility unattainable by other manufacturers.
Uncomplicated Quality and Value
Copper Cylinder Manufacturers
"Always forward looking, the company realised the importance of its quality system. It is the holder of two kitemark licences and has operated to BS EN ISO 9002, acheiving all three symbols of stringent quality in the early 1980's."
